Functional diagnostics anaesthesia

Prior to surgery, an anaesthetist of our Functional Diagnostics Department is fit for receiving anaesthetics. This is also where the patient is informed in every detail about the types and potential risks of anaesthesia. Depending on the patient's state of health, further examinations may be prescribed to be done by the GP or the specified specialist. Our outpatient anaesthesia ward is equipped to provide outpatients and other clinic department with some additional standard examinations such as ECG or pulmonary function tests.

Functional Diagnostics is also the place where patients go to donate their own blood before doing major surgery. Apart from receiving detailed information, patients will undergo some preliminary tests required before donating autologous blood.

Our outpatient anaesthesia ward organises several respiration hours every week during which outpatients can hand over their prescription to authorise the clinic doctor to treat them. During these consulting hours, the ward staff will do the regular checkups of outpatients who our department trained for non-invasive mask respiration at home. Appointments will only be made by letter or on the phone.
