Treatment alternatives
Medical training therapy: The RKU's Sports Therapy Department offers medical training therapy to patients suffering from locomotor apparatus injuries previously treated using conservative methods or surgery, specially addressing the needs of patients whose daily life requires more power and fitness than normal. Our patients benefit from the full range of training therapy tools and activities, starting out with a detailed initial diagnosis for using our sports equipment for heart and circulation training as well as the sauna or solarium.
Training groups: Contact with others is intended to bring back enjoyment of motion to our patients. Many of our activities can therefore be taken in groups, including walking groups, an osteoporosis groups, back training, and therapeutic groups for water treatment of patients suffering from vertebral, hip or knee problems.
Furthermore we provide aqua training, free-climb training, coordination and mobilisation training and many other therapeutic sports activities - always based around a very detailed initial diagnosis and an ongoing monitoring and control of therapeutic processes and results. The RKU's Sports Therapy Department has the latest measuring instruments for EMG measuring, isokinetic testing, cardiovascular parameter determination and many other types of test for initial diagnosis and an ongoing control of results and sustainability of therapeutic actions.
